Lovely Earthlings!
It occurs to me that I’ve been referring to you by the English name. However, the peoples of your planet have given it so many lovely names!
In the mountains of Spain, the world is called Lurra. Further north, in another Earthling tongue, it’s Terre. But having traveled around your world, I find the names get better the more you learn. In the island nations of New Zealand and Sri Lanka respectively, you may hear your planet called Whenua and Polovē. Feels good in the mouth to say, no? There are so many different names for Earth in India alone, but I love this pretty little mouthful: Prthvi. Or maybe you like a more grounded name, like Lefatše or Aarde, as different folks in the southernmost countries of Africa say? So, tell me…what is your personal favorite? Do you prefer Terran or Lurran or Polovēse or Lefatšian, Whenuars, Aarders, or Prthvlings? Or something else? Let me know!
But by whatever name you please, I know our dear Space Grandma will find your world so fascinating!
I can barely believe how soon I’ll be there myself!!!
