Glalion {GLAY-lee-on}
hume of the planet Gloam
Born of Gloam, now in the fermentatious early middle of zir life, Glalion is what might be called a playlight. As in a kind of playwright, but with a crystalised emphasis on writing, evoking, storytelling with light. In particular, ze creates theatrical mystery events that have sub layers and dimensions that only become clear in conjunction with certain patterns of the eclipse season.
This conjunction is necessary not only for what is created to be illuminated, but because the suns, moons, and planets themselves actually become a part of the story - and play those part themselves. As such these events are described as being 'illuminated' as opposed to simply performed or experienced, and can take their own sweet time when it comes to coming to be. Glalion's entire being is a bit like that, really; responses will come after you think a conversation is closed, words used feel like they're both clear and full of shadow, and everything is languorous.
Glalion and Space Grandma are currently in collaboration on a play of their own.

An embellished and kaleidoscopic imagined-recreation of the collaborations that led to the crafting of Gloam's first lens and mirror technologies.
Beyond Crescendo
Set in a single stretch of lowlands, based upon what is recorded in the Rohrlland Histories regarding the strange events and stranger effects of the seventy eighth eclipse season ('season' as counted by Rohrl Reckoning).
The Light of Dark
An early, highly crowdpleasing work that cannot be described by words.
Variegation, In All Its Elations
Set in the later early days of the first hume arrivals to Gloam. A troupe of actors, all there after losing themselves and life and opportunity, is lost in an unmapped valley - where each member discovers they change dramatically depending on the kind of light on their skin, leading to a devised performance of ecstatic proportion.
In the Ninth Night of My Heart
Semi-Autobiographical Metaphorical wherein Glalion's own total Being is creatively re-expressed as a great observatory complete with a community of distinct lives and voices. The play by turns meditative, melancholic, madcap, melodious, and mighty.
Perpetually Unfinished Play About the Expedition to The Hyperborluminous Heart
Like many storytellers of Gloam, Glalion also has works exploring the imagined consequences and possibilities of actually finding the Hyperborluminous Heart. These are, however, unfinished. Glalion's attempts are unique for their insistence in lasering their focuses in on a lesser known member of Gloavannon's crew named Aenovan. Glalion imagines Aenovan at the moment after the crew have left their last bastion anchorpoint planet behind, the last moon to leap, and given over fully to the dimensions of the heart as they quest into space for The Heart. What was, is only remembered by them increasingly dimly, but there is a question of dissension, a challenge of intention amongst the explorers. Some call for the way back. Aenovan fights to go forward, to live beyond illusions amidst the loam of a different light.
Glovannon {glow-VAN-nun}
mythic-historic hume of the planet Gloam
A real person, about whom what we mostly know is mostly myth. Leader of those youths of Gloam who ventured out in quest for The Hyperborluminous Heart.
Any original name is lost - 'Glovannon' was a name carefully chosen and crafted by whomever that person was, a name created specifically to conjure a mythic present that would seem to be following on from the roots of Gloam's legendary past.
It is possible this charismatic person who came to be called Glovannon was a farmer in his early life, quite possibly of the grass Rorhl, but it is also quite possible that any associations of Glovannon with an agrarian life are themselves just one more piece of mythmaking.
We do know that Glovannon was one of nine major proponents of a mutation to the traditional philosophy of Gloam, the so-called Vast Body View.
While most on Gloam saw the universe as a living body - almost in a literal sense - one that was already in the process of quickening full-through with new life, Glovannon and the other eight proponents of this mutation to the theory (their names long-since eclipsed) instead saw the universe as showing the same strange aftershock-growths that emerge in the first season after any organism's death. Humes, Awe, suns, dreams, tisanes, fear, love, everything - everything - that exists in our universe being nothing but the steady and ongoing breakdown of an organism ultimately impossible to comprehend.
Opinions differ on how Glovannon was so able to capture the imaginations of the youths who joined in the quest. There is, however, a minority opinion notable for its espousement of the theory that even if Glovannon resorted to any trickery to get companions to join him, it was all in service of a vision he himself saw to be true. And that when this vision itself was communicated to the crew, this journey to re-awaken - and in fact re-enliven - the very universe, these youths still chose to
partner with him in the grand and imperative adventure.
