t i s a n e s
The original seven tisanes of Space Grandma’s own and famous crafting.
There have been many more recipes in the course of a lifetime of expressive curiosity and celebratory exploration, but these are the ones that stayed and which have seen themselves served on planets and moons and stranger places still.
It was, amongst other things, the quest for ingredients which brought SG here to Earth, a quest which revealed a cornucopia of similarities and differences small and large alike between how life manifests on Earth and in the Pleides.
Echoes and harmonies, but nothing quite the same per se per se.
But! Joyful and extensive research on the part of SG and friends means we are thrilled to be able to suggest these rough - and sometimes even close! - taste equivalents which you too can brew. This won’t be quite what it’s like with the ingredients SG first used (and still uses when traveling or in the Pleiades), but Earth is a verdant wonder of beautiful diversities and these recipes will all get you comparatively startlingly close considering what circumstances could otherwise be.
translation tea
“That night I understood in languages I’d never heard. I spoke in languages I’d never known.”
This is a line from the short story ‘Tree Tea with T H Gilrats’ by Rover Three, which tells something of the author’s first experience with Translation Tea upon traveling with Space Grandma to meet zir friend T H Gilrats on the ancient planet Rhizophora. The sap from the great and ancient trees there seeps through many a story and is key to Grandma’s adventures.
