Ahn-Solmaia {ahn sole-MY-ah}
plant of the planet Oraea
The broad, bitterbent, turqoise-hued flowers of the ribboning vine that grows upon the iridescent surface of Oraea’s highest lake. Called Dyamanthilys, this waterbody murmurs at the junction of that planet’s four densest jungles: Anreora Anraeora, Syrtosyran, LuBaea Lin, and Amyna ~ Azryna.
With a slightly sticky scent plucked by notes of floral resin and an orchid’s memory, flowers are used, or the vine if no flowers can be found (the flavor is much lighter). The more pure the tisane's brewing, the more sweetening most palates tend to need. But remember to keep the brewing itself pure, and save the sweet for after. Ahn-Solmaia is, as an ingredient, a famous thread of many stories; while the stories of its effects are more diverse than the languages we have to tell stories.
Make a tisane using this ingredient plus any other(s), and you'll only experience its taste. Maybe a whisper of something more. But make a tisane with this ingredient - and only this ingredient - and something will happen.
What depends on who and how you are when you drink it.
Tisanes made only with this ingredient are recorded as leading to experiences as diverse as intestinal jests, intentional and extended public dancing, generous acts of self-love, mixing colors, tangentular bubbling, gesticular nuzzling, sitting still, listening, lightening, brightening, and more.
This ingredient is a personal favorite and trading specialty of Etim Kvi Spasios & Friends. They trade the flowers and various sundry woven dried vines at significant loss considering total harvest and preparation efforts required. But they believe in the simple power of this simple ingredient so much such that they continue, and aim to continue besides.
When foraging on Earth, substitute damiana leaves.
